ORING RICHARD DOOLEY

Tom Prete S.A.M. Assembly #127 is proud to honor Past National S.A.M. president Richard Dooley, (aka The Amazing Doolini) for his contributions to the art of magic and for his long time support of Assembly #127's New England Magician's Conference, NEMCON.

     Rich is the 24th person to receive this honor. He will receive the award March 10, 2007, at the 26th Annual NEMCON. His mentor, S.A.M. National Chaplain and Past National S.A.M. President Fr. Cyprian Murray, will make the presentation. Rich has been a student of magic since he was 15 years old. He currently lives in Tolland and is a performer and teacher of magic.

        Richard Dooley

Rich joined the S.A.M. in 1978 and has devoted much time and talent to the S.A.M., blending his business skills with his lifelong love of magic. He has served as S.A.M. national treasurer, first vice president and second vice president. In 2005, Rich was elected S.A.M. National President.

At the 25th annual NEMCON in 2006, Rich presented Tom Prete Assembly #127 with a Presidential Citation on behalf of the S.A.M. in recognition of Assembly #127's continued success.

Combined IBM/SAM Convention

July 21-27, 2008 in Louisville Kentucky

Registration for this historic event is $295.00 for IBM or SAM members.  The combined convention will be held at the Galt House hotel in Louisville. The registration fee may seem high for a convention but keep in mind that you are getting two conventions in one and a one-time event that will be a international FISM type convention featuring the largest cash awards for the winners of the stage and close up competition.

Monday still Magic Night in NYC

If you plan to visit Manhattan over the holiday's, don't forget the longest running magic show in New York City is still happening every Monday Night at The St. Clement's Theatre, 423 West 46th Street (between 9th and 10th Avenues) just a “short” walk from Times Square on restaurant row.  For show information, dining discounts or parking information, visit their website at www.mondaynightmagic.com 

Nomination of New officers

At the January 16th Assembly 127 meeting, nominating committee chairman Tom Prete will give the committee's recommendations for new officers for the coming year. Nominations will also be accepted off the floor and elections will be held at the February 20th meeting.
